Sammons Jazz pays tribute to the talented jazz singer and beloved volunteer Leigh Tomlinson with two sets of great vocal jazz.

A timeless set by acclaimed vocalists Carolyn Lee Jones, Sandra Kaye, Heather Paterson, and Tony Hakim opens this annual tribute to beloved singer Leigh Tomlinson. The stellar group is backed by an equally celebrated band: Brad Williams on piano, George Anderson on bass, and Andrew Griffith on drums.

The all-star tribute continues with a refreshing collaboration featuring innovative vocalists Damon K Clark, Garry Williams, Tatiana Mayfield, Candace “Mahogany” Miller. Their A-list band includes pianist Shelton Summons, bassist Jerome Allen, and drummer Lamont Taylor.

Sammons Jazz is held at the Sammons Center for the Arts, 3630 Harry Hines at Oak Lawn. Tickets are $50 per person; Sammons members receive a $5 per ticket discount. Admission includes beverages, a light meal, and valet parking. Doors open at 7:00 p.m.; the concert begins approximately at 7:30 p.m. There are two performance sets of about 40 minutes each with an intermission between. Dress is casual.
