DESCRIPTION:03 April 2020 - 05 April 2020\n\nRedang Island Conservation Da
 y (RICD 2020) is an annual CSR event organised by The Taaras Beach &amp\; 
 Spa Resort which will be held from 3 - 5 April 2020\, after a successful o
 ne in 2019. The objective of this event is to preserve the island&rsquo\;s
  marine environment\, as well as the land around it.\n\nIn 2019\, a total 
 of 70 participants\, media\, sponsors\, supporters and volunteers came tog
 ether and did their part to give back to Mother Nature. With Trash Hero Ma
 laysia as the NGO Partner\, representatives from Berjaya Tioman Resort\, J
 abatan Taman Laut Malaysia and Polis Diraja Malaysia were present to show 
 their support towards the event. Also present to grace and support this ev
 ent was Y.A.M Tengku Datin Paduka Setia Zatashah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris 
 Shah\, Royal Patron for Redang Island Conservation Day.\n\nDivers involved
  in RICD 2019 performed three underwater clean-ups\, two at The Taaras Hou
 se Reef and one in the wreck. Putting all efforts to clear the marine debr
 is underwater\, divers were also on the lookout for ghost nets and Crown o
 f Thorns (COT) which are a constant threat to our marine life.\n\nMeanwhil
 e\, non-divers did their part by cleaning up the beach as much as they cou
 ld to ensure that washed up trash from the ocean was cleared from the beac
 h to prevent it from going back to the sea\, which could negatively affect
  the growth of the corals and endanger the marine life living around the a
 rea. In total\, three clean-ups were conducted in Teluk Kerma.\n\nThe Taar
 as Beach and Spa Resort\, the only 5-star resort in Redang Island with a p
 rivate beach\, managed by Berjaya Group of Hotels &amp\; Resorts\, aims to
  contribute towards preserving these coral reefs in the island. It is thro
 ugh this objective that we have and hold dearly to our hearts\, have made 
 Redang Island Conservation Day 2019 a reality with the help of our partner
 \, sponsors and supporters. RICD 2020 will be a continuation of this effor
