For this edition, we are toasting the close of our fashion exhibition Making Mainbocher: The First American Couturier. Join us, raise a glass, and learn more about this city you love! Discover Chicago’s fashionable side on a flash tour, offered throughout the evening: Mainbocher: The Most Important Designer You’ve Never Heard Of Led By Petra Slinkard, Curator of Costume Pay homage to the Chicago designer who helped shaped fashion history on this curator led tour of Making Mainbocher. Chicago’s Fashion Highlights Led By Marne Bariso, Volunteer and Intern Manager Hop on a fashion-focused tour of Chicago: Crossroads of America. Dressing Up For the Occasion Led By Jessica Pushor, Costume Collection Manager Discover how costumes were preserved and dressed for display on this costume-focused tour of Making Mainbocher. Grab one of Mainbocher’s favorite drinks, Kir Royal or Prosecco, from one of two Museum bars. Or enjoy your pick of craft beers Off Color Brewing’s Apex Predator, Goose Island 312, and Revolution’s Anti-Hero and Fist City, while supplies last. General admission is free for Illinois residents on Tuesday evenings; purchase a ticket to History Happy Hour to enhance your experience. Must be 21+ to purchase a ticket to History Happy Hour. Ticket includes spirits tastings, one craft beer, tours, and museum admission.
